Adult Siblings, Guardians and Grandparents Your role in the Life of Your Special Needs Individual As parents age and become unable to provide care and support for their children with disabilities, siblings are often called upon to fill in the gap. Typically, siblings have little insight into the various public and private benefits and entitlements to which their siblings with disabilities may be entitled, nor do they know how to effectively advocate for the greatest level and quality of care and services. This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the multitude of legal issues siblings of individuals with disabilities may confront, including federal and state benefits and entitlements, medical care, housing, support services, guardianship, and financial planning.
