Direct Care Training Resources
Certified Staff Effectiveness Trainers

You asked for it and now you have it.

It’s Time to Experience an Extreme Makeover

The DCTR/ICTR Training Team is proud to introduce the newly revised and enhanced edition of Devereux's crisis prevention/intervention training programs. Devereux CP/I is now Safe and Positive Approaches for Preventing and Responding to Crisis. And as a result, we have updated our Safe & Positive Approaches: Part I - Staff Effectiveness Trainer's Manual. Our training "makeover" incorporates a blending of the important concepts and practices of positive behavior support and trauma informed care into a new and improved SET curriculum.

The training offers a new name, a new logo, a new lesson plan format with learning points and trainer notes, and revised and enhanced trainer resources.

The Staff Effectiveness Trainer Refresher will include topics and/or Trainer Resources such as:
  • An Overview of Trauma and Trauma-Informed Systems of Care
  • A New Look at De-Escalation and De-Escalation Tools
  • Active Learning Methods of Training
Join us for a one-day Staff Effectiveness Trainer Refresher and see how the old and new come together to provide you with an up-to-date competency-based training that is aligned with best practices, positive behavior support and trauma informed care while you develop your training skills and expertise, expand your knowledge-base and challenge your understanding of adult learners.
